Plus Blogger changed its interface and it's proving very hard for me to insert tables/spreadsheets like I used to. As promised, after transcribing the births, here's the first part of the marriages.

Bear in mind that 1 marriage is on 2 lines, groom first and then the bride.
Just like I did for the births, I am not transcribing every single piece of information.

I've decided to include:

• DOM - Date of marriage
• Groom + Bride (surname & name of groom - first line -  and bride - second line)
• DOB - Date of birth (of groom and bride depending on the line)
• POB - Place of birth (of groom or bride)
• Father (of groom or bride, surname first)*
• Mother (of groom or bride, surname first)*
• Notes for Groom / Bride - usually where I add the name of previous deceased spouse(s) if reported, and other things I think are absolutely important.

I've not included:

• Name of the priest officiating the marriage
• the religion of the bride and groom (I haven't found non-Catholics yet)
• domicile of bride and groom
• birthplace (usually where they came from, not necessarily the birthplace) and condition (profession) of their parents
• witnesses: name, birthplace, current domicile and profession/condition
• if the bride/groom were illiterate
• if the bride/groom were minors and needed permission from their parents or guardians or family council, etc, to get married
• if the bride/groom were exempted from publishing the banns for whatever reason
• other notes

Keep in mind that you could also find their signatures if they were not illiterate!

This is the last post on the "Births" series for Valvasone, ending in august 1871, because from September the Italian "Stato Civile" starts in this region.

I will be posting the Marriages registrations next, maybe deaths too, we'll see. I have already started transcribing the marriages, that's why I'll be doing those first.

This is the (late) registration (left and right page) of the illegitimate son of Countess Laura Valvason, named Giuseppe Giacomo. She had him with a sub-lieutenant from Vigevano and then the baby was left to the "Pia Casa Degli Esposti di Udine" (where they took in abandoned infants - called "Esposti") where he was baptised. Then the soldier recognised the baby and he was registered in Valvasone, where the mother lived, about 5 months after he was born and baptised.

This baby was registered in Valvasone 3 years after she was born (in Valvasone) and baptised as illegitimate (in S. Vito where she was found abandoned).

As an example of how one surname may change over time, this woman (always the same person, as she's associated with the same husband and date/place of marriage) had her surname written at least 5 ways in a span of just a few years:

This is the first post after the Italian government declared the total lockdown of Italy. I, like almost all Italians, am staying at home with my family. 
We're only allowed to go out to buy groceries, meds, or for health reasons (although every procedure that isn't urgent has been cancelled), for work (if you work in one of those few places that have not closed), or for bringing food/meds to people in need. We need to carry papers where we certify why we are out and if we're found out without a valid reason we may be fined and reported. 
I don't mind doing this if it means that in a few days we will begin seeing the numbers of death and infected decrease. I really hope we can stop the spreading of this virus by doing this. 
The economic hit will be huge, but we will have saved many lives. I urge you all to follow the simple measures suggested by WHO, wash your hands, don't touch your face, stay away from others, especially the elderly and those with other illnesses. Follow the advice of your governments, but know that you should be extra cautious even if your government doesn't want to act. 
My grandma had her 92nd birthday yesterday and I was able to video call her via my aunt, usually I'm there every day, but it's safer for her to see fewer people now. 
I'm spending some of this time transcribing more and more records for the blog and writing and scheduling posts.

3) when there's no surname (for the baby) it just means I couldn't infer it from the father's surname (most likely because no father was mentioned).

Other times the 2 were swapped, if you compare them to other registrations for the same couple, so when looking for children of a couple you're interested in, look for their soprannome, too, if they have one.
